Fun money race nights

Corporate Race Nights

A hosted evening of racing that gets the whole team, or your clients, cheering, competing and laughing together. Played with fun money, so there is no real stake, just the thrill of the race. Want to give the night a purpose? I can raise money for your chosen charity too.

How the night runs

Fun money racing, start to finish

No experience needed and nobody sits it out. Here is how a Day at the Races plays out, whether it is an afternoon session or an after-dinner event.

1
Teams

Split into tables

Guests sit in teams of around ten. Each team gets a race pack with programmes, betting sheets and £600 of fun money to play with.

2
Betting

Back your horse

Bet on each race by backing a horse from one to eight. Minimum bet is £10, and you can stake as much as you like. When the money is gone, it is gone.

3
Racing

Cheer them home

I compère the whole thing and get the room shouting for their horse. Six races plus a live auction race, with the atmosphere building every time.

4
Winners

Crown the champions

The team with the most fun money at the end wins. We finish with a prize giving, so bring along a prize for the winning table.

Why it works for business

Case study, Brighton

170 guests, one unforgettable night

£20,000+Raised for Macmillan in a single evening

For one corporate night in Brighton we brought together 170 guests for fun money racing alongside professional photographers, a photo booth, table magicians and a silent auction. By the end of the night, over £20,000 had been raised for Macmillan Cancer Support. Proof of just how big, and how good, one of these evenings can get.

Corporate race night questions

How does the fun money work?
Each team starts with £600 of fun money and bets it across the races, minimum £10 a go. There is no real stake, so it is all of the fun and none of the risk. The team with the most money at the end wins, and we finish with a prize giving.
Can we raise money for charity too?
Yes. If you would like the night to raise funds, I can switch the tote to real money for a charity your business chooses, and handle the compliance and paperwork. One Brighton night raised over £20,000 for Macmillan alongside the racing.
How many people can take part?
It scales beautifully. It works for a single team right up to a room of 170 or more. Tell me your numbers and I will make sure the format and the kit suit the space.
What do we need to provide?
A room, tables and chairs, and a group up for a laugh, plus a prize for the winning team. I bring the compère, the screen, the PA, the races and all the fun money kit. It works in function rooms, hotels, marquees and offices alike.
How long does it last, and how far do you travel?
A typical event runs around three to six hours depending on the format, as an afternoon session or an after-dinner activity. For corporate events I travel UK wide, so wherever you are based, just ask.
